Executive Director
Amanda Calton taught English at Granite High School for three years. She has been involved in the development of new courses and has had experience in supervision and bookkeeping.

As Executive Director of UASCD, Amanda is heavily involved in conference planning, registration, membership, and professional development. With Amanda’s involvement, UASCD now has a consistent contact person and mailing address.

We are thrilled and excited to have Amanda on board. You will get to know her well over the coming years.


New Director
Kathleen Chronister is UASCD President beginning a two-year term in June 2008. She has served as UASCD Pres-elect for the past two years and previously as a board member for four years. She is currently serving on the ASCD Leadership Council and has attended the LEAP advocacy conference and training for the past two years.

Kathleen is currently an administrator in Davis District with her assignment specific to Alternative Education. In this capacity she states, “Every young person deserves an opportunity to prepare for their future through education. Some young people just take a different road and these individuals usually have life experiences where they encounter detours and delays on their journey.”

Kathleen has worked intensively in curriculum and instruction at the school and district level. She previously directed the Davis District Standards project as the Curriculum Standards and Credit Specialist.

She was the School-to-Career Coordinator for the Davis/Morgan region federal School-to-Work grant where she and her team developed Work-based learning activities, curriculum, and standards. She is a former Marketing Teacher at Davis High and adjunct instructor with Weber State University.


2008 UASCD Conference
The 2008 Annual Fall Conference will be held on October 1-2 at the Provo Mariott.


Day on the Hill
The annual Day on the Hill event is scheduled for January before the legislative session begins.
